Max Louison-Semrow, LCSW/LICSW (he/him/his) has a lifelong background in human services, graduating from the Simmons School of Social Work in 2018. He spent the subsequent years practicing in Level I trauma centers and rehabilitation hospitals in Massachusetts and Maine. Most recently he has supported patients and families in an ambulatory palliative care clinic. His style is empathetic, collaborative, and non-judgemental, incorporating elements of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and self-exploration to empower patients towards meaningful change. He works to center on what matters most to each patient to center the work. His current clinical focus is on Older Adults, Issues of Aging, Illness, and He has worked with people living with HIV, Substance Use Disorders, and Serious Illness as well as Chronic Illness. Max enjoys navigating the undulations and changes of life and initiating steps to help clients move forward and thrive, in spite of the challenges life may present.
